AI note taker without a botDoes this happen in your meetings?

  • A bot joins, and the client asks who it is?
  • It joined a call you never meant it to?
  • Your company doesn't allow meeting bots?
  • And you still have to write the notes?

Notes from every call. Nothing joins it.

ClearMeet runs on your Windows PC. It listens to the sound your PC plays and your microphone, and writes the notes while the call is still on.

Nobody new in the call

No extra name in the people list, so there's no stranger to explain.

Only when you press Start

It never joins a call by itself. You start it, and you stop it.

No bot to ban

Nothing is added to the meeting. Still check your workplace's rules on AI notes.

The notes write themselves

Every word, a summary and action items with names, before the call ends.

Free for 5 meetings a month. For Windows 10 and 11.

What is an AI note taker without a bot?

An AI note taker without a bot is an app on your own computer that writes meeting notes without joining the call. It listens to your computer's sound and microphone, so nobody sees an extra name in the meeting. ClearMeet is one, for Windows: a live transcript, a summary, action items with names, and short answers during the call.

How does a note taker hear the call without a bot?

It listens on your side of the call. Whatever your PC plays through its speakers or headset, and whatever you say into the microphone, is what it writes down.

No bot joins your call. ClearMeet listens to the sound your PC plays and your microphone. Your audio is turned into text on your PC and never leaves it. Recordings stay on your PC too. To write answers and notes, the text of the conversation and your question go to our server and on to Google's Gemini model.

Because it hears your computer, not the meeting, it works the same in every app: Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Slack huddles, and any other call that plays through your PC, in the app or in the browser. How it works with each app.

A bot in the call, or a note taker on your PC?

Both give you notes. The difference is who is in the meeting, when it starts, and where it can go with you.

Bots differ by product: some only join when you invite them, and several makers also offer a desktop app with no bot. Check the one you use.

What does ClearMeet write down?

Everything a bot would give you, while the call is still on. You don't wait for an email after the meeting.

  • Every word, written down on your PC as people talk (real-time transcription).
  • A summary that fills in during the call.
  • Action items with names: who said they'd do what.
  • Key moments, so you can jump back to them.
  • Answers during the call: asked something? Press one button for a short answer, from the call and your own files (live answers).

When the call ends, copy or download the notes in one click.

No bot doesn't mean nobody knows

No bot means no stranger in the call, not a secret. Tell people you're taking AI notes, as you would with any note taker.

Recording laws differ by place: tell people when you record or transcribe a call. Some workplaces don't allow AI note-taking tools at all, with or without a bot, so check yours.

ClearMeet is for your own work meetings. It must never be used where outside help isn't allowed, such as exams or tests (acceptable use).

Who is it for, and who not?

It fits people in many calls on a Windows PC who don't want a bot along. It doesn't fit Mac, phone or non-English meetings.

  • A good fit: founders, salespeople, recruiters, consultants and account managers with client calls every day, on Zoom, Teams or Meet.
  • Not a fit: Mac, phone, Chromebook or web-only users. ClearMeet writes down English speech only, for now.
  • Not a fit: calls you take on a separate phone, since the sound has to play on the PC.

How to start, in four steps

It takes a few minutes, and nothing needs to be connected to your calendar or meeting app.

  1. Download ClearMeet from the Microsoft Store and sign in with Google, Microsoft or your email.
  2. Join your call in any app, on the same PC.
  3. Press Start on the ClearMeet bar. The notes fill in as people talk.
  4. Press Stop, then copy or download the notes.

Prefer to write them yourself? Use our free meeting notes template, which also writes the follow-up email.

Questions

Is there an AI note taker that doesn't join the meeting?

Yes. Bot-free note takers run on your own computer and listen to its sound instead of joining the call. ClearMeet is one, for Windows 10 and 11. Granola, Krisp and the desktop apps of Otter and Fireflies work without a bot too.

Is ClearMeet free?

Yes, for 5 meetings a month, up to 2 hours each, with every feature. Paid plans give more meeting time.

Does it work with Zoom, Teams and Google Meet?

Yes, and with any other call that plays through your PC, in the app or in the browser. There is nothing to install in the meeting app and nothing to connect to your calendar.

Will the other people know I'm taking notes?

They won't see a bot, because there isn't one. That doesn't make it a secret: recording and transcription laws differ by place, so tell people when you take AI notes.

Does it work on a Mac or a phone?

No. ClearMeet is for Windows 10 (version 2004) and Windows 11 only, and it writes down English speech only, for now.
