What is ClearMeet?
ClearMeet is a real-time AI meeting assistant for Windows. It listens to your call through your PC, with no bot, and writes the transcript, notes and action items. When someone asks you something, it shows a short answer you can say, from the conversation and your own files. Free for 5 meetings a month; Pro is $20 a month.
How do live answers work?
You click Answer latest, and ClearMeet finds the last question someone asked you and answers it. The first words appear in about 1.6 seconds, and the answer is short enough to say out loud.
- Press Start on the ClearMeet bar when your call begins. The words of the call appear as they're said.
- When a question is heard, Answer latest says so. Click it.
- A few short lines appear under Answers, shaped for the question: lines to say, steps, a small table, or one key point.
- Not quite right? Click Regenerate, or type your own question in the same place.
The usual wait before the first word of an answer is 1.6 s, and an average answer is 39 words: short enough to say out loud. We measured these ourselves in September 2026. Speed depends on your computer and your internet.
Where do the answers come from?
From what was said in the call, and from the files and notes you add before it. If the answer isn't in either, ClearMeet says so instead of making something up.
Before a meeting, open Notes and say what the meeting is about, then add your own files: a price list, a product sheet, slides or a contract. ClearMeet reads PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, PowerPoint and text files, pictures and scans, and even recordings. Files are read on your PC, and only the parts an answer needs go with the question, as text.
It never invents company details or offers. If a buyer asks for a discount you never mentioned, the answer says that it hasn't been discussed.
How good are the answers? Our own test
We asked ClearMeet 40 questions of five kinds, and all 40 were right. For the 8 it should not answer, it said so instead of guessing.

Who sees the answer?
Only you. The answer shows in the ClearMeet bar on your own screen; nothing joins the call and nothing is said for you.
- No bot joins your call. ClearMeet listens to the sound your PC plays and your microphone.
- Hidden from most screen shares: on Windows 10 (version 2004) and later, most screen-sharing apps can't capture its window. It's on by default; switch it with "Hide when sharing my screen" in the tray menu or Settings.
- Someone looking at your actual screen can of course see it.
Where live answers help most
In calls where people ask you things and a pause costs you: sales calls, client meetings, support calls and webinars you host. Anywhere you'd look at your own notes for the answer.
- Sales calls: the price, the plan limits and the next step, answered from the price sheet you added.
- Client meetings: a technical question, answered from the spec or the last meeting's notes.

What live answers can't do
ClearMeet is a helper, not a stand-in. It needs you to read the answer and say it, and it has limits worth knowing before you rely on it.
- ClearMeet writes down English speech only, for now.
- Answers need the internet; the call's sound is still turned into text on your PC.
- Answers can be wrong. Each one ends with a small reminder, and the files you add matter most.
- Windows 10 (version 2004) or Windows 11, 64-bit. There is no Mac, phone or web version.
- It isn't for exams, tests or interviews where outside help isn't allowed. Our acceptable-use rules forbid it.
Questions
Can AI answer questions during a meeting?
Yes. ClearMeet writes down the call as it happens. When someone asks you something, click Answer latest and a short answer appears in about 1.6 seconds, built from what was said and the files you added. You read it and say it in your own words.
Will the other people know I'm using it?
No bot joins the call, so nobody sees a note taker in the list of people, and the bar is hidden from most screen shares. But recording laws differ by place: tell people when you record or transcribe a call.
Can I use it in a job interview or an exam?
Not as the candidate or the student where outside help isn't allowed: our acceptable-use rules forbid it. Use it in your own work meetings, and in interviews you run.
Does it need the internet?
Yes, for answers. Your audio is turned into text on your PC, then the text of the conversation and your question go to our server and on to Google's Gemini model, which writes the answer.
What if it doesn't know the answer?
It says so instead of guessing. In our own test of 40 questions, 8 were questions it should not answer, and it declined all 8. Each answer also ends with a small reminder that AI can be wrong.
