What is ClearMeet for students?
ClearMeet is an AI note taker for Windows that writes down online lectures as they happen, on your own PC. It keeps a transcript, a summary and the key moments of each class, and answers your questions about it later. The Free plan covers 5 lectures a month, up to 2 hours each.
What do you get from each lecture?
A full transcript, the key moments with their times, and a short summary, saved as one meeting you can come back to. You can also ask questions about it, like a study partner that was listening.
- The transcript, written as the lecturer talks, so you can listen instead of typing.
- Key moments and a timeline: jump to the part about the thing you missed.
- A summary in a few lines, to copy or download in one click.
- A recording of your screen and the sound, if you turn it on, so the slides are there too. It stays on your PC.
- Questions afterwards: ask “what were the three causes she listed?” and get the answer from what was said.
How to set it up before your first class
Install ClearMeet, sign in, and press Start when the lecture begins. It takes a few minutes, once.
- Download ClearMeet for Windows 10 or 11 and sign in with Google, Microsoft or your email.
- Optional: in Notes, add the course's slides or reading list as PDF, Word or PowerPoint, so answers use them.
- Join the lecture as usual, in the app or the browser, and press Start on the ClearMeet bar.
- Press Stop at the end. The key moments and the summary are ready a moment later.
Missed a class that was recorded? Add the video to Notes and ClearMeet reads what's said in it, so your questions can use it. Free and Pro take videos up to 2 hours; Plus, up to 4 hours.
Which plan fits your timetable?
One lecture a week fits the Free plan. A full timetable needs more hours: four 1.5-hour lectures a week is about 26 hours a month, which fits Pro's 30 hours.

ClearMeet is for learning from lectures, not for exams. Using it in an exam, a test or anywhere outside help isn't allowed breaks our rules.

- Many schools have rules about recording classes, and recording laws differ by place. Ask your lecturer when in doubt.
- ClearMeet writes down English speech only, for now.
- Windows 10 (version 2004) or Windows 11, 64-bit. There is no Mac, phone or web version.
- It hears what plays through your PC. For a lecture in a room, ClearMeet only hears your own microphone.

Is ClearMeet free for students?
The Free plan is free for everyone: 5 meetings or lectures a month, up to 2 hours each, with every feature. For a full timetable, Pro gives 30 hours a month for $20, or $16 a month paid yearly.
Does it work with lectures on Teams, Zoom or in the browser?
Yes. ClearMeet listens to the sound your PC plays, so it works with any lecture you hear on your computer: Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, or a video in your browser. Nothing joins the class.
Can I use it in an exam or a test?
No, not where outside help isn't allowed. Our acceptable-use rules forbid using ClearMeet to cheat in an exam, a test or an interview. Use it to learn from your lectures.
Do I need to tell my teacher?
Follow your school's rules and the law where you are. Many schools and places require you to ask before recording or transcribing a class. When in doubt, ask first.
Does it understand lectures in other languages?
Not yet. ClearMeet writes down English speech only, for now.
