What is ClearMeet, as a Bluedot alternative?

ClearMeet is an AI meeting assistant for Windows. Like Bluedot, it never sends a bot into your meeting. It writes the transcript, summary and action items while you talk, and when someone asks you something, it shows a short answer you can say. Free for 5 meetings a month; Pro is $20 a month.

How do Bluedot and ClearMeet work?

Bluedot records your call through a Chrome extension or its desktop and phone apps, then writes the notes. ClearMeet is a Windows app that writes the call down as it happens and answers when you click Answer latest.

Bluedot says it never invites a bot to your meeting or asks for calendar access, and it can record meetings in a room with its phone app (bluedothq.com). ClearMeet hears the sound your PC plays and your microphone, so it works with Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Webex and any call on your PC. It doesn't record meetings in a room away from your PC.

The paid plans cost about the same. Bluedot runs on more devices. ClearMeet has a free plan every month, live answers, and turns speech into text on your own PC.

When is Bluedot the better choice?

When you use a Mac, a phone or only Chrome, or when you also want notes from meetings in a room. Bluedot's yearly price is also a little lower.

Pick Bluedot if

  • You use a Mac, an iPhone or an Android phone.
  • You want a Chrome extension rather than an app.
  • You also record meetings in a room, away from your computer.

  • You want a short answer to say when someone asks you something.
  • You want more than 5 free meetings in total: ClearMeet gives 5 every month.

  1. Download ClearMeet for Windows and sign in with Google, Microsoft or your email.
  2. In Notes, add your price list, product sheet or slides. Answers come from them.
  3. In your call, press Start. When you're asked something, click Answer latest.

ClearMeet writes down English speech only, for now. Recording laws differ by place: tell people when you record or transcribe a call.
