What is ClearMeet for Zoom?
ClearMeet is an AI note taker and meeting assistant for Windows that works with Zoom without a bot. It listens to the sound Zoom plays and your microphone, writes the transcript, notes and action items, and shows short answers when you're asked something. It works in any Zoom meeting, whoever hosts it. Free for 5 meetings a month.
How does ClearMeet work with Zoom?
Join your Zoom meeting as usual, in the Zoom app or the browser, and press Start on the ClearMeet bar. It doesn't matter who hosts the meeting or which Zoom plan they're on.
- Join the Zoom meeting.
- Press Start on the ClearMeet bar. The transcript fills in as people talk.
- Asked something? Click Answer latest for a few short lines to say.
- Press Stop. The summary, action items and key moments are saved on your PC and in your account.
Showing slides in Zoom? Hidden from most screen shares: on Windows 10 (version 2004) and later, most screen-sharing apps can't capture its window. It's on by default; switch it with "Hide when sharing my screen" in the tray menu or Settings.
ClearMeet or Zoom's own AI?
If you host your meetings on a paid Zoom plan, Zoom's AI is already included: try it. ClearMeet fits when you're in other people's meetings, on the free plan, or also use Teams and Meet.

Does Zoom have its own AI note taker?
Yes. Zoom's AI, called ZoomMate on Zoom's pricing page, writes meeting summaries and answers in-meeting questions. It's included in the Zoom Workplace Pro and Business plans; the free Basic plan gets it for 3 hosted meetings a month.
Do I need a paid Zoom plan for ClearMeet?
No. ClearMeet doesn't use your Zoom account. It works in any Zoom meeting you're in, on a free or paid plan, whoever hosts it.
Is ClearMeet a Zoom Marketplace app?
